Jelani Butler is a 22-year-old multi-hyphenate creative from Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Butler's creative practices include: editing and directing for film; acting for theatre; dance performance and choreography; music composition.
Butler is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts in 2021 as a dance major and was top 20 of his graduating class academically. He is currently a graduating senior Film & TV major at the historic Howard University.
Butler values joy, autonomy, vulnerability, and empathy through his work. He believes the measure of excellence in the individual work must be congruent to the collective benefit of humanity.
